Our Staff

Lord and Lady Construction is a truly "home-grown" business.  It is run by our two owners, husband and wife team, Thomas and Laura Cavendish.  Mae Thomas is our full time office and customer service manager.  Read below for more details about our on-site crew.  

Whenever sub-contractors are required we strive to work with contractors whom with worked with before, and can trust their skill, judgement and experience.  We typically work with: Top Line Electric  for electrical work; we now have our own licensed plumber and HVAC on crew; Advanced Insulation for spray foam insulation; Source Julien for gas fireplace or wood stoves; Twin Bay Glass for all glass surrounds and mirrors; Berg or Cluff Well Drilling for all well needs; and Popp Excavating for excavation work.

Thomas Cavendish is our licensed general contractor, license numbers 2101190067 & 2102195486.  He takes care of all on-site construction, management, estimating and consulting.  Thomas works up the estimates, orders materials and is our brilliant builder for nearly all aspects of projects.

Thomas was raised in his father's construction and surveying business in England.  He was also schooled and trained in England in construction, engineering and masonry, then traveled here to the States to continue his studies. He and Laura were married in 2007 and after going through lots of fun immigration details, they founded Lord and Lady Construction in April 2008.

Our "Lady," Laura Cavendish is our designer, project manager, and marketing director.  She works closely with clients on plans, selections, and styles to ensure your plan fits your budget and priorities.  You therefore find her in the office and on the job sites.

Laura grew up in Southwestern Michigan and has always had a passion for the arts.  She has degrees in both visual communications and fine arts.  She uses these artistic and creative skills to help bring your vision to reality both in blueprints, renderings and estimates and the actual construction of your project.  In April 2008, she and Thomas founded Lord & Lady, taking the next step towards their dreams.
