Lord & Lady Construction offers a wide variety of services - all with an eco-friendly view in mind. We offer Free Estimates, Free Renderings* (when applicable) and Free Consulting. We are happy to serve homeowners in the entire Grand Traverse Bay and Northern Michigan area. One of the services we pride ourselves on is our problem-solving capabilities, so if you have a project, problems or repair, that we have not listed, please don't hesitate to contact us! We are happy to lend any advice or expertise we can, and help research and compile a feasible solution.
We have a scope of varied experience and would be happy to help on any job. We offer free estimates and consulting on every project, to give as much knowledge and information as possible before choosing how to complete your project and your contractor. If you choose to work with us, we will create a detailed Contract for you that outlines our Warranty and also ask that you fill out a Certainty Pledge for us, to further ensure your satisfaction with our work.
Custom Home Building
Our detail-oriented skills and experience, help us bring beautiful, extremely functional and efficient homes to homeowners of all budgets. Thomas, our head contractor, is on the job site every day, and oversees or completes all work on your home. We take our time, and the results of that, mean a home that's built to last and make home ownership a comfortable and rewarding experience, rather than a headache.
We truly treat every build as if it were going to be our home; meaning that every single aspect must be perfect and done above code. From making sure all aspects are level and square, to ensuring the right paint colors and are trim are used, our small company size, dedication and personal attention is going to result in a better home building experience for you.

Kitchen Remodels
From gutting and starting over with a whole new layout, to just changing out counters and fixtures, we can help you evaluate your current kitchen and develop a plan to remodel that will get you enjoying your time in the kitchen more! We'll handle all the construction and planning; and coordinate and manage work with licensed plumbers, electricians and HVAC companies when necessary.

Bathroom Remodels
Sometimes its a leaky toilet that's rotting out the floor or replacing some tile, sometimes you want a jacuzzi, and sometimes its time to rethink the whole bathroom. Whatever your situation, we have the skills and experience to help you remodel your bathroom! We'll handle all the construction and planning; and coordinate and manage work with licensed plumbers, electricians, HVAC and glass (door) companies when necessary.

Masonry
Our head contractor, Thomas, is a Master Mason, educated and trained in England. He specializes in all masonry work: historic restorations, Nexcem ICF block, concrete block, brick, stone and poured concrete. Whatever your project - chimney repair (including flashing work), new standard or Rumford style chimney build, foundation walls, slabs, fire pits, stone walls and more - we can help plan and execute the project with the expertise and patience required for quality work to far outlast your lifetime.

Additions
As with our new home builds, we are very detail-oriented, making sure every aspect of your project is skillfully and carefully completed. In additions, you always have to have a good understanding of the situation, and be able to quickly adapt to changes that you may find upon opening up an existing space. Here at Lord & Lady we excel at this, and can easily modify and revise plans as they develop. Comfort in managing the unexpected and good communication with the homeowners brings our addition projects to happy and satisfied conculsions, even if they developed into more than expected.

Garage & Pole Barn Construction
As with our new home builds, our detail-oriented skills and experience, help us bring extremely well built, functional and efficient garages, pole barns and sheds to homeowners of all budgets. Thomas, our head contractor, is on the job site every day, and oversees or completes all work. We take our time, and the results of that, mean a storage building that's going to be able to withstand the wear-and-tear you're going to expose it to.

Stone, Block & Brickwork
Yes, this is essentially the same as Masonry. Stone, Block & Brickwork, all fall under the Masonry category, however, we list it as an additional category, to ensure homeowners are aware that our head contractor, Thomas, is a Master Mason, who specializes in difficult, complex and simple stone, block and brickwork projects and repairs.

Concrete Counters & Hearths
As with Stone, Block & Brickwork, this category does fall under Masonry. However, we list it as an additional category, to ensure that homeowners are aware that we offer this service, as not all masons know how, or have the equipment to pour concrete counters & hearths. And don't be fooled into thinking that grey is the only color a concrete counter can come in, we have a wide variety of options, acid stains and additives available, to make your pieces unique. Not to mention the finishes, set ins and edgings we can incorporate into your pieces.
We typically cast all counters on-site. It is nearly indestructible and only falters when it comes in contact with butter or oil, on a regular basis, which is why we recommend setting in granite or marble slabs, for your pastry stations in the kitchen.

Painting
Here at Lord & Lady Construction, we work mainly with Sherwin Williams paints, but are flexible and will use other brands, or your own paint, if you prefer. We try to always use low or no-VOC paints. We'll paint anything from your front door, to the whole house inside and out, and can smooth out those popcorn ceilings too!

Door & Window Installations
We install doors, windows and storm doors on a regular basis. Typically these projects are fairly straightfoward and take little time to complete, with usually the longest part of the process being the waiting for the windows or doors to arrive! We work with Pella, Andersen, Crestline and Mastercraft.

Plastering & Drywall
We can do the framing and the plastering and drywall work for your project. Simple and complex layouts, beveled corners and textured ceilings, we can do it all.

Tilework & Flooring
With our head contractor, Thomas, as a Master Mason, his skills transfer to tilework and he is nearly just as skilled with tile. From complex herringbone, to simple grid, glass tile to ceramic and porcelain, we can help complete your tile project. His skill and expertise will keep your tiles from cracking and ensure a well sealed grout. And if you already have tile and need repairs, we can help too, coming up with the best solution for your home.
And its not just tilework we can install for you, all flooring. Hardwoods, bamboos and laminates - the only flooring we don't install is carpet, but we can help you work with our reliable installers, like Floor Covering Brokers, and get it installed for you!

Refinishing
Here at Lord & Lady Construction we have a long history and background in woodworking, with Thomas' maternal grandfather being the great clockmaker of British Canham Clocks. We can refinish kitchen cabinets, doors, trim, furniture and more. We typically work with all eco-friendly finishes, like Safecoat Stains, Sealers or even polished beeswax.

Landscaping
Landscaping encompasses such a wide variety of services. Here at Lord & Lady Construction we can help you with a large number of outdoor services: outdoor patios & kitchens, decks, firepits, stonewalls, planning and planting, vegetable gardens, chicken coops and runs, laying mulch, weed whipping, sheds, raking and shoveling and more. We work with all siding types, vinyl, cement board, wood, board and batton, shake, stone and more. We can help you develop your new look, or just implement what you've already developed.

Cabinetry & Woodwork
Here at Lord & Lady Construction we have a long history and background in woodworking, with Thomas' maternal grandfather being the great clockmaker of British Canham Clocks. We can build kitchen cabinets, built-in units, stand alone units and all manner of intricate woodwork.

Appliance Installations
Though its not what keeps us busy most of the time, we can and have often installed appliances. Whether installing units in a new home build, or replacing units that you already have in your home, we can either do the work, or coordinate the work with an electrician or other necessary utility worker. From bathroom exhaust fans to ovens in the kitchen, our careful attention to detail, will ensure your replacement is installed properly.

Carpentry
Here at Lord & Lady Construction we have a long history and background in woodworking, with Thomas' maternal grandfather being the great clockmaker of British Canham Clocks. We can do all your detailed finish work, creating and installing trim, crown moulding, built-in units and more.
Roofing
Though its not what keeps us busy most of the time, we can and have often repaired and installed roofs. From living roofs, asphalt shingles and recycled rubber, we have a wide variety of roofing experience and expertise, through hands-on projects and research through educationals and seminars (especially on green roofs).

Property Management
We can help manage your property or rental with every detail covered by us, from cleaning and landscaping to scheduling and payments, or we can just do upkeep, on-call maintenance or opening and shutting down of your "home away from home."

* Lord & Lady Construction offers free renderings for all projects that are signed and contracted with Lord & Lady Construction. Any renderings that are completed for clients, and then the work is not contracted with Lord & Lady Construction, will be charged to the clients at our current hourly rate.
